Glaub ich nicht, B 777-300 ist genau wie A 340-600 in Salzburg nicht zugelassen, Grund sind die Radien der Rollwege.

Für das Abrollen von der Piste sind die Rollwege C und D das Problem, obwohl eine B 777-300 dort wohl eh kaum reinkommen würde. Das Haupthindernis aber sind die Exit´s 3 und 4 zur Hauptabstellfläche, die haben so einen geringen Radius.

Ob da baulich was machbar wäre, kann ich dir aber auch nicht genau sagen, ausserdem ist die Länge von 75,30 Metern (A 340-600) bzw. 73,90 Metern (B 777-300) auch ein Problem, es käme dafür nur eine Parkposition, nämlich die W2 in Frage, und auch da wird es schon verdammt knapp, da das Heck des Flugzeuges nicht über die Betriebsstrasse, die in der Mitte des Vorfeldes durchführt, hinausragen darf.

Und da wird es selbst bei der B 747-400 mit ihren knapp 70,00 Metern Länge schon verdammt eng, obwohl der Flieger soweit wie möglich nach vorne abgestellt wurde.

Russia’s Sky Express LCC loses its AOC

Russian authorities withdrew the air operator’s certificate (AOC) for Sky Express (XW) owing to the deterioration of its performance and finances (ATW Daily News, Oct. 18), according to Rosaviatsia—Russia’s Dept. of Aviation/Ministry of Transport. XW was Russia’s first low-cost carrier.

Last month, Rosaviatsia head Alexander Neradko said the carrier’s AOC would be canceled due to the consolidation process between XW and Krasnodar-based regional carrier Kuban Airlines (GW). Both carriers belong to the investment company Basic Element. Despite losing one AOC, the owner will keep both brands on the market as the XW name has become well known over the last several years.

Earlier this fall, XW transferred its aircraft to GW, creating a combined fleet of seven Boeing 737s, three Airbus 319s and 11 Yak-42s, which will not be used for scheduled flights.

Most of XW’s routes were closed when the airlines optimized their winter schedule. It is still not clear if the combined airline will continue to offer low-cost fares. Since advanced notice of the consolidation and AOC withdrawal was given, passengers were not affected.

During the first nine months of this year, XW carried 942,400 passengers, up 10.5% year-over-year.

Transaero orders four 747-8I aircraft

Transaero Airlines (UN) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Boeing for four 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft, making it the first customer in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe for the passenger version of 747-8. The deal is valued at $1.32 billion at list prices. The aircraft will be delivered in 2016.

The aircraft will feature a four-class cabin layout (first, business, premium economy and tourist) seating about 460 passengers, according to UN.

“In 2005 we became the first Boeing 747 operator in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe. Following our traditions we chose modern and efficient 747-8 Intercontinental,” Pleshakova said during the signing ceremony.

AirBridge Cargo is Russia’s first customer of 747-8 cargo version, which will receive its first aircraft at the beginning of the next year (ATW Daily News, Dec. 2, 2010).

The carrier last month signed an MOU for four Airbus A380s (ATW Daily News, Oct. 31). At the MAKS Airshow in Moscow this summer, UN CEO Olga Pleshakova said the A380s/747-8s would be used to replace older 747s and expand the carrier's fleet from 2015 onward (ATW Daily News, Aug. 19).

The carrier operates nearly 70 aircraft, including 747s, 777s, 767s, 737s and Tupolev Tu-214s. UN specializes in long-haul flights on tourist destinations developing its route network both from Moscow in Saint Petersburg and also flies on the domestic long- and medium-haul routes from these cities.
